We never test on animals, and all of our products are 100% cruelty-free and vegan friendly. We're also proud to be Leaping Bunny certified.

Only your obstetrician can tell you what's safe for you, but we are not aware of any contraindications during pregnancy or breastfeeding. None of our formulas is made with parabens, formaldehyde, chemical sunscreens, retinol, synthetic hormones or drugs, including minoxidil. If you have any specific questions, we'd recommend that you take a list of the ingredients (found on any product page) to your doctor.

All Rootist formulas are designed to be suitable for color treated hair. We avoid harsh surfactants and stripping ingredients to help protect the longevity of color.

ALL Rootist products are formulated without silicones. Why? Silicones are pervasive in conventional hair formulas because they offer a temporary fix, like a coating of plastic vinyl over a surface. That's not our goal. We formulate for the biology and holistic health of the roots, scalp and hair. Also, silicones are not biodegradable. They wash down into our drains and into the oceans. Research has shown some silicones break down to their basic components in the environment relatively quickly. Other research has shown they accumulate over time, but we don’t know for certain what risk, if any, such an accumulation presents, so we choose to formula without them.

Rootist products are produced with globally-sourced ingredients and materials, and made in the U.S. and South Korea.

Orders are processed within 48 hours. After your order ships the delivery time is 5-7 business days.

Please email hello@therootist.com and a team member will be happy to assist you. However, please note that it is not always possible to change or cancel an order once placed.

Unfortunately, we do not ship to PO boxes at this time.

We try to get to orders as quickly as we receive them and in most cases we fulfill orders within 2 business days, but please allow up to 5 business days for orders to be processed in times when we are receiving an extremely high volume of orders.

Order confirmations can take up to 24 hours to receive due to high demand. If you have not received an order confirmation without 24 hours please email hello@therootist.com and a team member will be happy to assist.

We offer first-time buyers a 10% off their first order by subscribing to emails.

We currently ship our products to customers in the U.S., including Alaska & Hawaii. We do not currently ship internationally, but we're working hard to ensure that our international friends can enjoy our products soon.

Orders have a flat shipping fee of $6.95, and shipping is free on orders of $90 or more.
